Star Wars Battlefront Outer Rim DLC adds new modes, heroes and maps

Electronic Arts has announced new details for Outer Rim, the upcoming expansion for Star Wars Battlefront.

Outer Rim will allow players to take control of two new heroes, Greedo and Nien Nunb.

EA hasn’t shared any details on how each character will play, but we hope Greedo doesn’t shoot first.

The expansion will include a new mode called Extraction, and it works a little like this:

"Rebel forces have entered some of the most dangerous places in the Outer Rim in order to extract a valuable shipment of resources. Now they must bring the shipment to their transport ship before time runs out. The Empire has arrived to stop them from reaching the extraction point."

Outer Rim also comes with a selection of new weapons and Star Cards, which you can check out below:

  • Relby V-10 rifle

  • DT-12 blaster pistol

  • Scatter Gun (Star Card)

  • Dioxis Grenade (Star Card)

  • Adrenaline Stim (Star Card)

The new maps will be set on the planets of Sullust and Tatooine. We know very little, but the Sullust map will take place in some kind of industrial factory. The Tatooine map will be located in and around Jabba the Hutt’s iconic throne room.

EA hasn't confirmed a release date for Outer Rim, only stating that it will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in March.

Outer Rim will be followed by the Bespin and Death Star expansions later in 2016. All of which are included as part of Battlefront’s season pass.
