Star Wars Battlefront Deluxe Edition gets early reveal

Star Wars Battlefront’s Deluxe Edition is now available to pre-order over at Amazon, giving us our first glimpse of the upgraded offering.

The Deluxe Edition box art portrays a close-up face shot of a stormtrooper, with a battle scene reflected in his eye-lens. This is priced at $69.99 (£45).

By contrast, the standard editions of the game have show off an AT-AT on the front of the box, and cost $59.96 (£39) apiece.

The beefed-up edition will come with five bonus in-game item unlocks, including the Ion Grenade, the Ion Torpedo, and the DL-44 blaster – that’s Han Solo’s weapon of choice.

If you pre-order with Amazon, you’ll also be the first to battle on planet Jakku, and be given access to two additional maps on December 1, before everyone else gets to play on December 8.

The Deluxe Edition will be available with this box art on PS4 and Xbox One. A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be available for PC gamers, which can be purchased through EA’s Origin platform.

Just last month, EA revealed Star Wars Battlefront will run at 60fps across both Xbox One and PS4.

The game is set to boast 12 multiplayer maps in total, including planet Hoth, and more locations will be available for the campaign missions.

The game is due to launch for “holiday 2015”, which suggests we’ll see the title in time for Christmas.
