Star Wars: Battlefront beta includes offline and splitscreen co-op

EA Games has confirmed that the Star Wars: Battlefront beta includes offline and splitscreen co-op.

Although we still don’t have a confirmed date for the Star Wars: Battlefront beta, the official blog has confirmed some of the key details.

Thankfully the beta will be open to everyone and is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4. Everyone will be able to download it the moment it’s available.

“For now, I can tell you this: the beta will consist of both our offline and online modes including co-op and splitscreen co-op, and it will take place on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and via Origin for PC, so we have you covered regardless of your next generation platform of choice,” said the blog post stated.

We’re particularly pleased to hear that offline play is supported, as it’s quite rare to be able to play competitive multiplayer shooters away from your router nowadays.

EA Games also confirmed that you’ll be able to play the new game mode
Drop Zone on the map Sullust, with single-player supported for that game
mode, alongside splitscreen co-op and online. There are bots available on both sides.

The blog post also answered some of the top questions floating around in the community forums.

Electronic Arts outlined the difference between the Standard Edition of Star Wars Battlefront and the Deluxe Edition. The latter will add the exclusive Ion Shock and Victory emotes to the base game and anyone who purchases it will get the Ion Grenade, Ion Torpedo and DL-44 unlocked straight away.

The publisher also confirmed that vehicles can’t be upgraded in the game.

“Vehicles in Star Wars Battlefront come with their own weapons and abilities that make them authentic to the Star Wars universe.”

Star Wars Battlefront will be released on November 17 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
