Electronic Arts has confirmed that a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront is in development for release in 2017.
The sequel will feature “bigger and better” worlds with content and characters from the “new movies,” such as The Force Awakens.
Electronic Arts confirmed the sequel’s existence in an earnings call last night, as well discussing a number of other upcoming titles.

We know nothing about the game so far, but the promise of new content from Star Wars: The Force Awakens already has us excited.
The Star Wars Battlefront reboot launched in 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, and has since shipped over 14 million copies.
We scored the original game a solid 7/10 in our review, calling it a "slick, polished and accessible online blaster that makes the most of the Star Wars license and material."
The lack of single-player content was a disappointment, so with any luck the sequel will have more to offer.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is due to release in 2017.
