LucasArts has lifted the lid on the next Star Wars game. Star Wars 1313 is a third-person action title that casts you as a bounty hunter in Republic capital Coruscant.
Quite unlike the most recent Star Wars console game, Star Wars Kinect, this is a "mature" project. Think less rinky-tink Cantina music and more of an expanse of desolate-looking futuristic city. A bounty hunter, you'll stalk around the overpopulated Coruscant, inhabiting its criminal underworld and taking on contracts, eventually uncovering "the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy." The name refers to Level 1313, an underground metropolis below the surface of the planet.
LucasArts says that the game features plenty of fast-paced combat, cover-based shooting and "exotic" weapons - rather than force powers. However, it doesn't seem to inject you into the most famous bounty hunter role of them all - Boba Fett. We'll be very surprised if he doesn't make an appearance at some point in the game, though.
Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation Ltd. And Skywalker Sound are all contributing to the project, suggesting it'll be an AA title, at the least. Star Wars 1313 is based on the Unreal engine, and uses full-body motion capture to give animation that life-like look.
