Star Fox Zero launch trailer brings the old team back together

Nintendo has released the launch trailer for Star Fox Zero, ahead of its release on Wii U later this week.

The trailer does a great job of setting up the game’s story while introducing a selection of new and familiar characters.

These include the iconic Fox McCloud, Falco and Slippy Toad. Andross, an evil primate, will act as the primary antagonist as he aims to take over the galaxy.

You also get to see many of the playable vehicles and how Star Fox Zero will take advantage of the Wii U Gamepad.

To celebrate the launch of Star Fox Zero, Nintendo will debut a new animated short called “The Battle Begins.”

Produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and the studio behind Ghost in a Shell and Attack on Titan, the animated short will be streamed later today on Nintendo’s website.

Star Fox Zero is set to launch exclusively on Nintendo Wii U on April 22.
