Sony Mobile’s rampant release cycle means we’re already looking towards the next flagship.
The Sony Xperia Z6 will feature a pressure-sensitive display, as claimed in a new report.
Mobipicker suggests the handset will incorporate “its own version” of Apple’s 3D Touch technology.
“A new source (name withheld) has tipped us some information regarding the Sony Xperia Z6,” the report reads.
The source is claimed to be “closely associated with the distribution network of Sony Mobile Communications”.
A pressure-sensitive display allows users to tap harder on a screen to effect new gestures.
Take this report with a pinch of salt however, as Sony has yet to make any official comment on the matter of a Sony Xperia Z6.

Back in October, it was also reported that Samsung would follow suit with its own 3D Touch-style display.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to make use of Synaptic’s’ ClearForce technology, a 3D Touch alternative.
ClearForce is already available for manufacturer sampling, and will give Android OEMs a chance to catch up with Apple on pressure-sensitive displays.
