Sony Xperia Z5+ render leaks

The first render of the Sony Xperia Z5+ has leaked onto the net.

Just days after initial details of the Sony Xperia Z5+ emerged, we appear to have seen the first render of the high-end phablet device.

As pointed out by XperiaBlog, the above (rather low resolution) image appears to have been taken from a leaked Sony Mobile slide presentation. It refers to a device called the S70+, which is a codename that’s already been associated with the Sony Xperia Z5+.

As you can see, little has changed from the Sony Xperia Z3 on the looks front. Sony’s OmniBalance design is still very much in evidence, this time in three colours: Black, Gold, and Chrome.

What we do appear to see from the blurry photo is the Xperia Z5+’s fingerprint sensor, which is located on the right side of the device.

Other reported specs include a 4K display, which is likely to be 5.5-inches or above in size. And yes, you read that right – the Z5+ screen will apparently sport a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution.

We’ve also learned that the Z5+ will apparently be powered by a Snapdragon 810 CPU, which raises a few questions about performance and heating issues (especially with that super-sharp screen).

We’re hoping to see the Sony Xperia Z5+ announced alongside the Sony Xperia Z5 and Sony Xperia Z5 Compact at IFA 2015 in early September, but there’s a chance Sony will hold it back for a later date.
