Little more than 24 hours after purported specs for Sony’s next-gen Xperia Z4 smartphones appeared online, alleged details of a forthcoming Z4 Tablet Ultra have come to light.
According to Chinese news site Padnews, Sony is planning to unveil a monster, 12.9-inch Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra in the near future, with a whopping display resolution of 3840 x 2400.
Beneath the surface, it is claimed a 2.86GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor will be accompanied by 6GB of RAM (2 x 3GB) and 64GB of built in storage.
The report also promises a HDMI 1.4 input for 4K video camera recording at up to 30fps, PS4 Remote Play and a rather sizeable 12100mAh battery pack. Blimey! The leaked image, which looks a little like a leaked product page from a retailer or manufacturer website also claims it’ll be just 8.6mm thick.
Should this leak be legitimate (and we have serious doubts), it’s possible the Sony Z4 Tablet Ultra could arrive at the forthcoming MWC 2015 show in February. It is expected its Z4 range will make its first public showing in Barcelona, providing Sony continues the recent tradition of refreshing its top mobile tech bi-annually.
Reports on Monday claimed the Z4 Compact will keep the 4.7-inch screen, but boost the resolution to 1080p. A leaked spec sheet also suggested there’ll be a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 20.7-megapixel camera. The same leak said the Xperia Z4 Ultra will come with a 6.44-inch QHD panel and a 16-megapixel camera.
Is Sony planning to go all-out power with its next generation mobile devices? It’s unlikely to be long before we find out.
