Sony Xperia Z3 to be unveiled on September 3?

The Sony Xperia Z3 will be
officially unveiled on September 3, latest reports have suggested.

Having been the subject of
multiple leaks in recent weeks, the Sony Xperia Z3 is widely expected to be
showcased during the Berlin-based IFA convention. Now, XperiaBlog has cited
unnamed sources in claiming Sony will hold its IFA 2014 press conference on the
afternoon of September 3.

Although Sony has yet to announce
any official plans to hold a dedicated press conference during IFA, if
accurate, this would likely see the Z3 unveiled the same day as the Samsung
Galaxy Note 4
.

Expected to be one of the big
announcementd of IFA 2014, the Sony Xperia Z3 will reportedly be the showpiece
of the Japanese manufacturer’s press conference, although a second, smaller
phone, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, is also being tipped for launch.

With Sony adopting a twice annual
smartphone refresh policy, unlike its main competitors which update their
flagship offerings every 12 months, the Z3 is shaping up to be something of a
wet lettuce.

According to recent leaks, the
phone will boast the same 5.15-inch, 1080p Full HD as its predecessor. This isn’t
where the similarities end either.

Like the existing Xperia Z2, the Z3
is tipped to run 3GB of RAM and a 20.7-megapixel camera alongside Google’s
Android OS.

The only notable change based on
leaked specs is the marginal jump from a 2.3GHz to a 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon
801 processor.

TrustedReviews will be reporting
from the show floor during IFA 2014 so stay tuned for all the latest from
Europe’s answer to CES.
