Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact leaked through official channels

The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has reared its head once again, with the iPad rival teased via Sony’s official website.

Expected to be unveiled during the Japanese manufacturer’s IFA 2014 press conference next week, the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is believed to be heading to the realms of reality alongside the company’s new Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone.

The Tablet Compact will be the company’s first effort at an 8-inch tablet having previously focussed its efforts around the 10-inch space.

Popping up through official channels, the currently unconfirmed device has been referenced on a specs page for the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Although Sony quickly rectified the premature tease, the folks over at GizmoBolt were quick enough to capture a screenshot of the evidence.

Confirming details on the tablet’s display, the leaked reference stated: “With IPS technology, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact offers an improved viewing angle.

Having leaked earlier this week alongside a new Sony smartwatch, the Tablet Compact is believed to be heading for launch with a bevy of premium internals in tow.

Recent leaks have claimed the device will pair an 8-inch, 1920 x 1080p Full HD IPS display with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB of RAM.

The tablet’s specs sheet has been tipped to be rounded off by an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera and 16GB of internal storage.

TrustedReviews will be on hand from Sony’s IFA press conference to bring you all the latest from the company’s big unveiling.
