New Sony Xperia Z1s pictures leak

New photos of the Sony Xperia Z1s have leaked online, offering yet another gimpse at the mooted Samsung Galaxy S4 mini rival.

Pictured against a ruler and coin to give a sense of scale, the latest Sony Xperia Z1s pictures add to rumours that the device will be a mini version of the Sony Xperia Z1, featuring a identical array of specs to the flagship phone just within a smaller package.

According to the leaked Sony Xperia Z1s pictures, the phone measures just over 6cm wide and a little more than 12cm long.

The snaps come less than a week after a listing for the phone was accidentally posted on the official Sony Mobile website. The Sony Xperia Z1s appeared briefly on the site, but its link didn’t lead to a product page or reveal full details for the product.

It is expected that the new device will have the same or similar specs to its sister product the Sony Xperia Z1f which launched last month but is currently available only in the manufacturer’s native Japan.

Sony Xperia Z1f Features
Coming in black, white, lime and shocking pink, the Sony Xperia Z1f is made from glass and aluminium and is waterproof and rustproof. The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 4.3-inch handset has a svelte 9.4mm thick frame, but weighs a hefty 140g because of its supercharged components.

Just like the Sony Xperia Z1, the Z1f has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor, Sony G Lens and a Bionz image processing engine. The Z1f’s camera also benefits from a f/2.0, 27mm wide angle lens and 3x digital zoom.

It comes with a 4.3-inch 720p HD resolution display with a powerful 2.2 GHx quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. 16GB of internal storage has also been thrown into the mix.

It’s powered by a 2,300mAh battery – smaller than the Z1’s 3,000mAh unit – but it shouldn’t affect battery life because it has a smaller screen to support.
