Sony Xperia Z available to pre-order from Vodafone UK 4G-ready

Vodafone has announced the Sony Xperia Z is now available for pre-order from Vodafone UK and has added that the next Sony flagship handset will 4G-ready from launch.

Free on 24 month Vodafone Red Data contracts starting from £42 per month, the Sony Xperia Z tariff will include unlimited calls and texts and a 2GB data allowance. It will be compatible with the 4G network set to be launched by Vodafone later this year.

The Sony Xperia Z release date has been set as February 28, leaked by network provider Three as it made the IP57 water resistant handset available to pre-order on its website. Unlike Three, Vodafone has not confirmed whether the Sony Xperia Z will be offered on a PAYG basis, but has confirmed the first 1000 customers will receive a free pair of Sony MDR-1R headphones, worth £299.99.

The Sony Xperia Z is powered by an impressive 2330mAh battery which supports a 1.5GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM alongside 16GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card.

A 13.1-megapixel camera in the rear and 2.2-megapixels in the front-facing camera make the Sony Xperia Z a good quality camera phone despite its sleek 7.9mm thick casing. It’s also capable of shooting videos at Full 1080p HD, displaying them on its beautiful 441ppi 5-inch screen.
