Here’s where to get the new phones – (Sony has not confirmed pricing yet).
Giffgaff has confirmed that it will be stocking both new phones. The Sony Xperia XZ will be available from October 6, and the Sony Xperia X Compact will be available from September 8.
The network says it will be offering the models online to buy either outright, or by paying the device off each month, spreading the cost over six, 12, or 24 months.
The Xperia XZ will be available in Forest Blue and Platinum, and the Xperia X Compact will be available in Mist Blue and Universe Black. All new phones come unlocked and ready with a Giffgaff payment SIM, along with 4G ‘goody bags’ ranging from £5 to £20. For £20, you’ll get unlimited UK minutes, unlimited texts, and ‘always on’ UK data.
Vodafone has announced that it will be ranging the Sony Xperia XZ, but could not confirm to TrustedReviews that the Sony Xperia X Compact would also be ranged. Dates of availability and pricing were also unavailable.
A spokesperson for EE couldn’t confirm whether the network would be stocking the phones.
Carphone Warehouse will be selling both new Sony smartphones. Pre-registration for the devices is open as of September 2, 2016, but the retailer’s release date has not yet been confirmed.
