Sony Xperia M4 Aqua splashes down in the UK
The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua has splashed down in the UK after its MWC 2015 unveiling back in March.
Hitting UK retailers for the first time, the waterproof mid-range handset is being offered through a number of networks and high street retailers.
A scaled back sibling to the flagship Sony Xperia Z3, the M4 Aqua pairs a 5-inch, 720p HD display with Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage – expandable via microSD.
Boasting a modest array of specs, the M4 Aqua adds a 13-megapixel primary camera alongside a secondary, 5-megapixel snapper around front.
A 2400mAh battery lies under the hood, with the phone’s ‘Stamina Mode’ promising two full day’s use on a single charge.
Powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop, the IP68 certified device can withstand being submersed in a metre of water for up to 30 minutes without succumbing to a liquidy demise.
Available in black today – white and the Carphone Warehouse exclusive Coral (pink) option will launch in June – the M4 Aqua can be snapped up on £15.50 per month, 24 month contracts with no up-front fee.
These deals, which include the new iD network, see the handset paired with 150 any network minutes, 5,000 texts and a minimalist 250MB monthly 4G data allowance.
