Sony has released an image teasing its upcoming Sony Xperia i1 ‘Honami’ smartphone ahead of its IFA 2013 reveal.
The Sony Xperia i1 is strongly expected to launch at Sony’s pre-IFA 2013 press conference on September 4, but Sony has released a new teaser pic in anticipation.
Although the Twitter picture only shows off the power button of the heavily rumoured Sony Honami smartphone, the accompanying text implies it will be the “best of Sony.”
“It’s the smartphone everyone been talking about… not long now #bestofSony,” reads the official Sony Xperia tweet.
The signature power button from the Sony Xperia Z, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia Z Ultra is present on the Sony Xperia i1, but will trump the specs of all three devices to show off just what Sony is capable of in their smartphone range.
Sony Xperia i1 Features
The Sony Xperia i1 specs have leaked online repeatedly in the past month ahead of the camera-centric smartphone’s launch on September 4.
With the latest leaks suggesting the Sony Xperia i1 will have a 20.7-megapixel Sony Exmor RS camera sensor, this will be most likely paired with a Sony G Lens and the Japanese company’s Bionz image processing technology.
Up front there will be a 2-megapixel Exmor R camera, but this obviously is only intended for video calling and the odd selfie.
Playing host to Qualcomm’s latest super-speedy 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, the Sony Xperia i1 will be powered by a 3000mAh battery.
Bolstered by a microSD card slot, the internal storage in the Sony Xperia i1 is tipped to be 16GB.
Like the other Xperia devices, the Xperia i1 will have NFC connectivity and potentially pack IP55 and IP57 certifications making it dustproof and waterproof too.
