Sony X90C 4K TV is slimmer than the Xperia Z3

Sony has announced its 2015 TV range and the X90C 4K TV is the pick of bunch thanks to its super slim frame

The world’s thinnest TV measures in at just 4.3mm thick making it considerably more slender than Sony’s own skinny smartphones like the Xperia Z3.

Its design finesse does not end there though thanks to what Sony is calling ‘edge coating technology’ to help create a barely noticeable bezel while a wall mount means you can make it look more like a picture hanging up than a TV.

The 4K set is also benefits from Sony’s new X1 processor, the new chip, which aims to enhance clarity, colour and contrast performance.

Perhaps the biggest news of all is that it will run on Android TV as Sony confirmed its entire Bravia range will have access to Google’s TV platform.

This follows on from the news that LG is once again putting Web OS at the heart of its 2015 TVs, while Samsung makes a big push with its very own Tizen OS as Pansonic cosies up to Firefox OS.

With Android TV support, that means Sony TVs like the X90C will be able to Google Cast content from smartphones and tablets to the TV, use voice search and even flick though channels using Android Wear smartwatches like the Sony SmartWatch 3.

Again, there’s no news on pricing though the entire range including the X90C is expected to go on sale from February in the UK.
