Sony won’t be hosting a press conference at Gamescom 2016 – report

Sony will not be holding a press conference at Gamescom this year, according to a recent report.

In previous years both Sony and Microsoft have been known to hold media briefings at the event, but this year will see some drastic changes.

French website Jeux Video claims to have spoken directly with Playstation France, who has confirmed that “there will be no Playstation Conference at Gamescom.”

This report comes shortly after Microsoft announced it will not be holding a press conference at this year’s event either.

It is still unclear if Microsoft plans to hold its own event in a similar vein to Playstation Experience, which has proven hugely popular with both fans and press.

Sony revealed an abundance of new and exciting games at E3 2016, but we’ve yet to receive any word on PS4 Neo.

We can expect the company to shed some more light on its upcoming console at Tokyo Games Show or Playstation Experience later this year.
