Sony unveils QX10 and QX100 smartphone lens camera duo
Sony has unveiled the Cybershot DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 smartphone lens camera accessories.
Offering to improve the photographic capabilities of selected phones, these lens cameras have 20.2-megapixel and 18.2-megapixel sensors.
Compatible smartphones have to be between 54 – 75mm wide, with a maximum thickness of 13mm, so fans of these devices had better get measuring.
Obviously intended to be the perfect accessory for the Sony Xperia Z or even the Sony Xperia Z1 (despite its superior megapixel offering), the QX10 and QX100 both come with NFC connectivity as well.
Neither needs to be attached to a smartphone to function, as they are capable of working as a remote camera, which Sony suggests is useful for high-angles or self portraits.
Both the QX10 and QX100 can be purchased with a soft carrying case or dedicated camera attachment case .
They can be pre-ordered from the Sony UK website now, with availability from the end of September for an unknown price.
Users will receive a Memory Stick Micro with both models, so they can get snapping straight away.
