With the Berlin-based show set to act as a launch platform for a number of flagship handsets – including the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – Sony has confirmed what many had already predicted, announcing its will unveil new devices on September 3.
Although having failed to mention the Xperia Z3 by name, Sony’s official media invite includes a couple of teasing shots of a smartphone.
While these might not be images of the Z3 themselves, it is a good indication that new smartphones will be the stars of Sony’s show in Germany.
As well as teasing new handsets, the Sony invite has suggested that the tech giant will introduce new lens cameras, TVs and audio products.
The Xperia Z3 has been the subject of multiple leaks in recent weeks, although there appears to be little to get excited about.
Like the existing Z2, the Z3 has been tipped to run a 5.15-inch, 1080p Full HD display, 20.7-megapixel rear-mounted camera and 3GB of RAM.
According to leaks, the main discernable difference between the two handsets will be the jump from a 2.3GHz to a 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.
With the Z3 expected to share the launch stage with the sub-sized Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, we will be on hand live from Sony’s press conference on September 3 to bring you all the breaking news and hands-on access.
