Sony confirms new PS4 coming this week, price and release date to be revealed
Ahead of the PlayStation Meeting event on Thursday, Sony has confirmed that a new console will be on show.
In a blog post on Monday, PlayStation Korea said the release date and price of the new PlayStation 4 will be detailed.
The translated post reads: “Sony Interactive Entertainment Korea (hereafter SIEK, President: Tetsuya Ando) has announced that in the coming Hong Kong September 8 through the upcoming 2016 PlayStation® Press Conference to announce the new release date and price of PlayStation®4 Asia.”
Whether the blog post is referring to the redesigned, slimmer PS4 model revealed over the last couple of weeks, or the upgraded PS4 Neo remains to be seen.

Most observers are expected both to be announced during the event, which will begin at 3pm Eastern US time on Wednesday (8pm UK time).
Last week we got an up close look at the retail version of a revamped console, thanks to a hands-on video posted by Let’s Play Video Games.
The video showed a much slimmer console, with new power button set-up as well USB ports positioned farther away from each other. This model is thought to replace the current PS4.
Meanwhile, we’re yet to see a design leak for the PS4 Neo. Whether this will offer a departure remains to be seen.
We’ll have full coverage of the event on Wednesday, so be sure to join us.
