GT Sport has been delayed, with no new release date in sight.
Polyphony Digital CEO and creative mastermind behind the Gran Turismo series, Kazunori Yamauchi, confirmed the news in a PlayStation Blog post.
GT Sport was originally scheduled to release on November 15, but now it'll be at least four months before you get to jump into the next entry in the wildly-popular PlayStation-exclusive race sim.
"I am sharing some news today that we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of Gran Turismo Sport to 2017," the post reads. "As we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title. We do not want to compromise the experience in any way."

GT Sport was also scheduled to include PlayStation VR support, along with a slew of other new features and modes in the game. He goes on to note that the delay is currently indefinite, with no new release date given.
"While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date."
With the lack of a GT Sport launch that leaves Sony with just DriveClub VR as its only exclusive racer to launch this holiday season, and with Microsoft bringing a sequel to the excellent Forza Horizon series in the form of Forza Horizon 3, the delay is undoubtedly a bitter blow.
