Sony’s annual E3 presser is over, and the producer of all things PlayStation put on a relatively tame showing this year. The highlights for us were the Shadow of the Colossus remake and Monster Hunter finally coming to PS4. We would have loved to see more solid release dates for first-party exclusives, though.
TrustedReviews compiled all the news, announcements and trailers you might need from Sony’s E3 2017 press conference. Read on to find out more.
Sony E3 press conference – As it happened
0254: Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man adaptation is closing the show this year with an extensive gameplay demo. The web-slinger is capable of using environmental traps to lure in and defeat enemies. Of course, hand-to-hand combat is a perfectly viable option, too. Spidey is coming to PS4 in 2018, just like nearly everything else from Sony’s presser this year.
0250: Destiny 2 receives a new trailer exploring its story missions, including an introduction for the sci-shooter’s antagonist. Come September 8, you and your fellow guardians can take him on and so much more.
0244: Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human is up next. The cyberpunk noir-thriller has a new trailer backed up by an android singing a little song. How cute. Now it’s gotten a tad more serious, with our heroes planning some form of uprising inside a futuristic city.

0238: God of War is back again with yet another stunning gameplay demo. Kratos is once again hanging out with his son, and the two are beginning to delve further into the game’s potential narrative. The infant will play a bigger role than we expected, and could accompany our hero throughout the entire game! God of War is coming to PS4 in Early 2018.
0233: Sony has announced Star Child for PlayStation VR. It appears to be a sci-fi platformer with more than a little bit of heart. The virtual reality streak continues with Supermassive Games’ The Inpatient. Until Dawn was just the beginning it seems. The VR train doesn’t stop there! Final Fantasy XV Universe is a PSVR exclusive add-on for the JRPG that lets you hang out with your favourite monster-slaying boyband.
0228: Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: WW2 looks smashing on PS4 as we finally catch a glimpse at the shooter’s multiplayer. The globe-trotting adventure is set to be tense, explosive and faithful to its historical origins to boot.
0225: Next up is Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, the crossover fighter coming to consoles and PC this September. It looks fun, chaotic and perfect fuel for comic-book lovers and gaming fans alike.
0224: Team Ico’s Shadow of the Colossus has been remade from the ground-up on PS4, and it looks absolutely breathtaking. It’s coming in 2018.
0220: Capcom’s Monster Hunter is coming to PS4. The cult series is making its debut on Sony’s console with Monster Hunter World. Count us in.
0217: PlayStation Head Shawn Layden is now on stage to introduce tonight’s show, which’ll include a bunch of PS4 and PSVR games we can expect to play in the coming months and years.
0210: After a show-stopping reveal last year, Sony Bend’s Days Gone is back once again with a gorgeous, rain-drenched demo showcasing the bleak open-world. The demo confirms rideable motorcycles, spooky zombie dogs and incredibly violent bandits. Just the usual stuff then… The horrifying hordes of undead can easily overwhelm our hero, so you best keep quiet if you want to survive. Oh, and ZOMBIE BEARS!
0207: Next up is a little something from Guerilla Games. Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds is a new DLC pack coming to the epic PS4 adventure.
0203: Sony’s annual press conference has begun! Once again, the PlayStation giant is kicking things off with an oddly charming bit of live music. This time, it’s themed to the tune of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Chloe Frazer’s solo adventure is coming to PS4 later this year, and looks like enough bullseye for Naughty Dog.
