Sony E3 2014 Press Conference: Date set for June 9

Sony has confirmed the time and date for its E3 2014 press conference, with the company’s showcase event to be held on Monday, June 9.

With proceedings set to kick off at 6pm PST (2am GMT on June 10th), Sony is expected to unveil a raft of new PS4 exclusive titles, as well as details on future PS4 plans and insight into the console’s first year performances.

Preceding the main show, Sony’s E3 2014 press conference will be held the evening before E3 proper kicks off. The LA-based gaming expo will run from June 10 to June 12.

In a day of high profile gaming announcements, June 9 also marks the date of rival Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference. The Xbox One maker will reveal its latest IPs and game trailers at 9:30am PST (5:30 GMT) the same day.

Although Sony has yet to officially confirm its exact E3 2014 press conference launch plans, recent leaks have suggested the manufacturer could have a raft of high profile announcements up its sleeve.

Surfacing late last week, a DualShockers source cited unnamed sources within Sony Worldwide Studios in claiming Uncharted 4 will be formally unveiled during the Sony E3 2014 press conference.

Tipped to be showcased ahead of a summer 2014 release, the insiders have reportedly stated that Uncharted 4 “looks absolutely stellar,” and will feature a “tropical setting and differing time periods.”

With a new title from the makers of Little Big Planet reportedly on the cards for an E3 unveiling, Sony will also reportedly demo a new Guerilla Games IP, a AAA title from Sony London and, if reports are to be believed, even GTA 6.

We will be on hand live from the floor of Sony’s E3 2014 press conference so stay tuned to TrustedReviews for all the gaming latest.
