Sonos will reinstate Audible support in the near future
Sonos will soon reinstate the option to stream audiobooks through Audible after pulling support for the platform back in 2016, it has been revealed.
The firm broke the news in a since-deleted post on its website, noting that Audible will award two free credits to all Sonos customers who sign up for a trial, instead of the usual one, as well as access to American musician Miles Davis’ autobiography.
It would appear that someone within Sonos’ inner circle jumped the gun with the news, however, as it rushed to delete the post, telling digital outlet The Verge: “We’re actively working to bring Audible to Sonos, but this feature is not yet available.”
There’s no word on when exactly support will be reinstated, but seeing as Sonos has prepared a post to document the release, it’s safe to say a global rollout is right around the corner – it’s likely applying the finishing touches to the client.

What’s strange is how long it’s taken to get to this point. Support was pulled in 2016 after customers noticed Audible wasn’t compatible with some speakers – including the Sonos One and Sonos Play:5 – and Mum has been the word ever since.
