SONICable charges your phone twice as fast as a normal cable

Fed up of waiting for your phone to charge? You’re not the only one: various companies are coming up with faster charging methods. SONICable is one of the most promising we’ve seen.

It works like a regular cable, but it’s able to turn off syncing and dedicate all its power to getting your battery to 100 per cent.

When you plug your phone into your computer, it syncs its data as well as charging. SONICable has a switch on the side – flick it on, and you can disable the sync option, so your phone takes the full charge instead.

Of course you could just plug it into the wall. But who has a wall charger on them at all times?

It’s available for both iOS (Lightning) and Android (microUSB) devices. The other end of the cable is reversible USB, so you won’t have to faff around plugging it in.

And that’s all there is to it. It’s a simple yet clever solution to a problem we’ve all experienced.

Various phones claim to charge quicker than others. As long as they have short battery lives, getting our mobiles juiced and ready to go will be the bane of most of our lives. It could also come into its own for charging smatwatches, most of which need powering up every night.

It’s passed its funding goal. Shipping should start this month.
