The hapless-but-loveable stoners from Kevin Smith movies like Clerks, Mallrats and their very own Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, could be about to get their own video game.
Indie studio Interabang is turning the View Askewniverse mainstays into a video game called Jay and Silent Bob Chronic Blunt Punch and it’s up to you to make it happen.
The makers, who have the full backing of Smith, have launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Fig game-financing platform.
The studio is seeing $400,000 to fund the PC-based game, which is based on the Jay and Silent Bob animated series rather than the movies.
The 2.5D side-scrolling brawler will see Jay and Bob “wreak havoc on their foes with fists, feet, and the magic of self-esteem-destroying jibes while embarking on a mission to find their long-lost pot customers trapped in an Orwellian mega super shopping mall,” according to the description.
The game promises to be unique from a gameplay perspective thanks to the new Convo Combat mode where an insult along with the correct facial expression could change the face of any battle. Jay and Bob themselves will also be able to complete each other’s combination attacks during the game.

Smith himself wrote: “People have asked me for years why I never made a Jay and Silent Bob video game.
“Now I can tell them I was waiting for Justin Woodward from Interabang Entertainment and our own Elias to bring it together. Couldn’t be happier to hand our characters off to folks who know them as well as I do.”
Donations start at $10 and range all the way up to $1,000 to get you a walk-on part in a Kevin Smith movie. Right now the game has 230 backers pushing $45,517 in donations with 37 days left. The page promises delivery in winter 2018.
