SkyDrive Apps For iOS and WP7 Launched

Microsoft has just rolled out iOS and WP7 apps for its SkyDrive service meaning users can manage their files and documents on the go.

The new apps will both have the same core features though as you would imagine the app on the Windows Phone devices will be able to integrate with the current SkyDrive functionality such as automatic cloud photo storage and Office document viewing and editing.

The apps will let you view, manage and upload files from you handset and will even let you send a link to someone to share those files, giving you the option to limit their interaction to just viewing or to viewing and editing. New users will be given a huge 25GB of storage by Microsoft - which rather overshadows Apple's 5GB of iCloud storage.

Microsoft yesterday pushed out an update to its popular note taking app for the iPad, OneNote, and with the appearance of SkyDrive in the iOS app store, we may be getting one step closer to see dedicated Office apps for the iPad.

Any documents stores in SkyDrive will then be available from any web browser, with the interface recently being updated to HTML-5.

The apps are available now from the Windows Phone Marketplace (for devices 7.5 or higher) and from the App Store (for iOS devices running version 4.0 or higher).
