Sky unveils new superfast Fibre Max Broadband

Sky has launched a new Sky Fibre Max package, its fastest broadband offering yet, with claimed speeds of up to 76Mbps.

The new package offers unlimited broadband usage and will cost £25 per month, plus Sky Line Rental, which will currently run you £17.40 a month.

Sky’s next fastest package, Sky Fibre Unlimited offers speeds of up to 38Mbps, which makes Fibre Max capable of delivering double the download speeds.

However, as with all broadband packages, the speed you actually get depends on a number of factors such as location and your distance from the local phone exchange.

Still, the new Fibre Max package should ensure remarkably speedy downloading of films and music, and looks like a great option for homes where multiple people are likely to be online and downloading at the same time.

Lyssa McGowan, Director of Communication Products at Sky said: “We’ve introduced Sky Fibre Max to give new and existing customers more choice to access our fastest broadband product at a competitive price.

“The new product represents Sky’s continued commitment to develop our broadband and fibre offering with fantastic customer service.”

The company currently offers the aforementioned Sky Fibre Unlimited, which gets you download speeds of 38Mbps and unlimited usage, and Sky Fibre, which has the same download speeds but comes with a 25GB monthly usage cap.

There’s also the standard Sky Broadband unlimited which will get you up to 17Mbps download speeds with unlimited usage.

Sky Fibre Max is available to new and existing customers, with or without Sky TV and on a 12 month contract, with Sky Line Rental (£17.40 a month). Set-up costs may apply and you have to pay an extra £9.95 for the router delivery.

With the launch of the new package, the company will stop offering its Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro tier to new customers from today, but existing customers can still take advantage of that particular package.

Sign up for Sky Fibre Max and you’ll also get the company’s online protection tool: Sky Broadband Shield.
