Sky is a new social adventure game coming first to Apple devices – and it looks gorgeous

Thatgamecompany has revealed its next project in the form of Sky, a new experience coming to Apple devices later this year.

Set to release for Apple TV, iPhone and iPad in December, Sky will have you teaming with up to eight players from across the world as you explore a gorgeous, cloud-filled landscape.

Incorporating a similar style of magic and visual whimsy to thatgamecompany’s previous works such as Journey and Flower, it looks really promising.

“Sky has been a few years in the making. After the release of Journey, so many fans wrote to tell us how much they enjoyed playing the game with their spouse, children, or loved ones, and asked if we could create a game where they could play together,” the studio said in a blog post.

“We wanted as many people to love games, and so we were encouraged to explore this idea at thatgamecompany. Which brings our games, for the first time, to mobile — a platform that many have access to, the world over.”

Sky looks absolutely stunning in the reveal trailer shown during Apple’s recent Keynote, showing that your character can be controlled with a single finger via touchscreen or the Apple TV controller.
