Sky+HD update improves movie discovery

Sky has issued another update for its Sky+HD box, this time aimed at improving the Sky Movies experience.

From today, Sky is rolling out an update that will bring Sky Movies more in line with popular streaming services like Netflix.

Sky+HD users will soon notice a ‘More Like This’ recommendation system based on what they’ve watched already. A press of the yellow button will serve up relevant suggestions.

Sky has also added a ‘Watchlist’ feature, allowing you to compile your own persistent category of films you want to watch at a later date. You can mark up movies for this list with a press of the green button.

Another new additions is ‘Watch from Start.’ As it suggests, it’s for those occasions where you tune into a film that’s already started. Just press the green button, and the film will be downloaded so that you can watch it all from the beginning.

Finally, there’s news of a future feature. Later in the year, Sky will add Rotten Tomatoes Audience Scores to movies, so you’ll be able to see what other viewers thing of a movie.

As we mentioned, this update is rolling out to Sky+HD box users now, but it might take until “later in the autumn” to make its way to everyone.
