Sky Go redesign launching and new catch up channels coming to set top box
Sky will be adding four new catch up channels its set top box On Demand service, and will be introducing a new Sky Go app redesign.
The on-demand Sky Go app is getting a fresh paintjob this summer and to celebrate users also will gain access to four new catch up TV channels via the Sky set top box.
All Sky subscribers will have access to catch up TV from Fox, Universal and Syfy channels for no additional cost from this summer. Any Sky Entertainment Extra pack subscribers will also be able to enjoy Disney on demand for free.
These new channel additions mean that the Sky On Demand service will have over 20 catch up channels for users to enjoy.
“This summer we’re adding even more channels into what is already the UK’s biggest catch up TV service”, said Luke Bradley-Jones, Director of TV Products at Sky. “We’re also making it easier to find something great to watch when out and about and at the same time giving our customers even more choice about different screens to watch on.”
The Sky Go mobile app will be getting a fresh design this summer that makes it easier to navigate. Sky TV customers will be able to browse through up to 39 channels to find their favourite shows on mobile and tablet devices using the new Sky Go app.
The Xbox 360 Sky Go app will also be given the new Microsoft user interface.
“It’s all part of our commitment to offer the best TV and the best ways to watch, giving our customers even more choice and flexibility from their Sky TV.”
Sky Multiroom customers will also receive access to Sky Go Extra for free from early July. This means they’ll be able to download their chosen TV series episodes from Sky Go to watch online at their convenience.
Sky Go Extra usually costs an additional £5 on top of the existing monthly bill.
