The Sharp UD20 4K TV is coming to the UK and Europe later this month.
Sharp has been making TVs for years now, but it is often quite rare for the UK or the rest of Europe to see any of their toils actually make it to shop shelves.
Now, Sharp has confirmed its 4K TV, the Sharp UD20, will be launched across Europe later this month.
The Sharp UD20 features a 4K 3840 x 2160p resolution on an LCD UHD Rich Colour Display and you’ll also get certified THX sound.
Sharp claims that means you’ll be getting movie quality audio and visuals in your own home with the UD20.
To aid that, the UD20 is powered by Sharp’s Super High Resolution Image Engine in terms of processing power. It is capable of upscaling any full 1080p HD display feeds to UHD 4K resolutions.
Meanwhile, the Local Contrast Control will ensure you’re still getting the appropriate detailing, enhancing each pixel individually. That means you’ll still get detail in the darker scenes.
Despite the slimness of the UD20 and its 10mm bezel, Sharp has still managed to pack in Yamaha AudioEngine technology into the built-in speakers.
Of course, the UD20 is also a Smart TV, so you’ll get Sharp’s Aquos Net Plus UI. This offers you access to Netflix, YouTube and other TV apps, although Sharp is keeping schtum on what these will be for now.
With the UD20 you’ll also get support for Miracast, DLNA and the TV is kitted out with four 4K compatible HDMI ports and an additional HDMI 2.0 port with 60fps support.
The 60-inch Sharp UD20 will launch later this month in the UK for £2,700, with a larger 70-inch model for £3,700.
