Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K 80-inch TV launched

Sharp has launched the latest model of its premium Aquos line of TVs, the 80-inch Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K.

In-built with Quattron 3D technology, the Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K claims to offer smoother, more natural pictures even in 3D, and the 80-inch screen has a bezel just 15mm thick for an immersive view.

“Whether you’re a sports fan who wants to be in the stadium, or you’re looking for that cinema experience at home, the LE857K series makes you feel like you’re there,” said Alberico Lissoni, Vice President of Consumer Electronics for Sharp Europe. “Don’t just watch it, get immersed in the action.”

The 80-inch TV is also available in a 70-inch option with the model number Sharp Aquos LC-70LE857K.

Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K Features
The Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K is said to offer the best picture quality Sharp has ever been able to produce, especially when it comes to natural looking colours and crisp picture quality.

The 80-inch LED TV features third-generation Quattron 3D technology, which introduces a yellow subpixel to the traditional red, green and blue (RGB) format for a smoother colour gradation, diagonal lines and higher picture definition for 3D images.

Offering a slim 15mm pure aluminium bezel, the Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K is designed so the screen provides the more immersive viewing experience possible, especially due to its vast size.

The TV also includes a Wallpaper mode that enables the Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K to display images at a low brightness level when in standby mode to turn the TV into a feature piece when the user isn’t watching.

Sharp has also developed an iOS and Android remote control app for the Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K, which will be available from the App Store and Google Play later this month.

Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K Release Date and Price

Both the 70-inch and 80-inch Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K TV sets will be available from this summer, but an exact release date is currently unknown. UK prices have yet to be set either, but a guideline price for the Sharp Aquos LC-70LE857K is €5,000 (£4236.75) but the Sharp Aquos LC-80LE857K will set consumers back €8,000 (£6778.80).
