Shadow of the Tomb Raider concept art teases Lara’s next adventure

Concept art for Shadow of the Tomb Raider has begun emerging, once again indicating the title is in development.

Lara’s next excursion was first uncovered last year through a developer’s laptop on a Montreal subway. Since then, we’ve seen little else.

That is, until now. Kotaku is reporting on a series of artwork that supposedly depicts a portfolio from L.A. based creative agency TakeOff.

According to Kotaku, a cached version of the portfolio’s webpage reads, “through sketches and renders, we explored varying concepts for the Shadow of the Tomb Raider logo and key art.”

The artwork features the iconic Lara Croft doing her usual assortment of tomb raiding activities. While it isn’t fully representative of the next game, it’s nice to have acknowledgement of its development.

Lara’s last outing, Rise of the Tomb Raider, launched back in 2015 for Xbox One and PC before coming to PS4 in 2016. Here’s a peek at our 9/10 review:

“Rise of the Tomb Raider takes everything that was successful in the 2013 reboot, including its stunning graphics and reimagined Lara, and takes it one step further.”
