Sennheiser stops Momentum Wireless headphone production due to Bluetooth issues

Sennheiser has pulled its new Momentum Wireless range from production until it fixes an issue with Bluetooth interference.

We’re big fans of the wired Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 here on TrustedReviews. The mixture of great sound, stylish looks, and comfy fit make them a great choice for the discerning listener.

However, the newest version of the headphones – the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Wireless, which was announced at this year’s CES – has encountered a major issue.

A number of users have reported that Bluetooth signals from other sources are preventing the headphones from working properly, both for music playback and receiving calls via a linked smartphone.

Gizmodo has reported that its own tests on three separate pairs of Sennheiser Momentum Wireless headphones have found a serious connection problems with all of them. Various forums and Amazon reviews seem to back this up.

As a result, Sennheiser has stopped production and distribution of the new headphones altogether until it can find and fix the problem.

The audio equipment maker claims that the issues affects “a very small number of headsets,” but as stated above, that doesn’t seem to be the case. And if it was such a limited issue, would the company have stopped production and distribution altogether?

It’s far from ideal for a set of headphones that cost in the region of £300, but we’re assured Sennheiser will get to the bottom of the problem.
