E3 2015

Sega has confirmed it will not have a booth at E3 2015 in Los Angeles next month.

Sonic and Total War publisher Sega has revealed it will not have its own booth at E3 2015.

That doesn’t mean that Sega won’t be teaming up with some of its partners though, so it might not be a total no-show for the publisher at the gaming convention at E3 next month.

“Over the next months, SEGA of America will be focusing on the restructure and relocation to Southern California, and we have decided to not attend E3 with our own booth this year,” explained a Sega representative to Game Informer.

“With the majority of our bigger titles launching later in 2015/2016, particularly those from our AAA studios Relic Entertainment, Sports Interactive and Creative Assembly, we are concentrating our efforts for some of these major announcements after our relocation. Instead, we will be collaborating with our various business partners for this year’s E3 show.”

So hopefully there might be a glimmer of Sonic news from Nintendo? Or even Total War: Warhammer from a PC manufacturer?

It’s clear that Sega is definitely stepping back from the major gaming arenas, as it outlined back in January when it said it was restructuring its business to focus on PC online and mobile games.

The company is trying to increase its profits and identified PC online gaming and mobile games as the two main areas of growth for the company.

We still believe that Sega is publishing some very successful titles — including Alien: Isolation, which has sold over 1 million copies to date and Sports Interactive’s Football Manager 2015.
