Small offices rejoice.
In the last two years Samsung has moved from a relative unknown to a major player in the printer market and its about to continue its assault on the SOHO space with two new multifunction, space saving lasers.
The SCX-5530FN and SCX-5330N (above) are both mono models that offer digital copying and high colour digital scanning on top of page churning duties with the former also operating as a fax. They are network ready and capable of zippy 28ppm rates (19ipm duplex).
Pages can be printed or scanned at up to 1200dpi with copies coming in at 600dpi while the FN’s fax is said to transmit a sheet of A4 in just three seconds. Given that both models are expected to be office workhorses they are equipped with 250 page input cassettes, a 150 page output tray and a 50 page multi-purpose tray with the option to add a further 250 page input cassette for the forest wreckers amongst you.
A ‘Direct USB’ interface on each means scans and copies can be made directly to a flash memory key without the need for a PC and prints made straight from the key itself. In addition, the bundled SyncThru Web Admin software enables users to manage multiple printers – regardless of model or even manufacturer – through a single tool.
A choice of 4,000 or 8,000 page capacity toners is available and you’ll find the SCX-5530FN and SCX-5330N nestled on shop shelves doing their thing for £599 plus VAT (includes £75 cashback option) and £699 plus VAT (includes £100 cashback option) now.
