Samsung’s has used the gaming hype-athon that is E3 2015 to unveil a new app designed to record mobile gaming.
While game recorders are fairly ubiquitous on PC and consoles, finding ways to do it on your handset is a little more difficult.
Samsung hopes to rectify that however, launching an Android app that’s aptly named Game Recorder+.
As you’d expect, it records your game in Full HD quality, and saves it to your local storage.
You can then use the app to edit the video. For instance, clipping out that ill-placed Tetris block or horrendously mis-timed Flappy Bird flap.
There’s also a “game boost” feature, which can optimise your device’s memory to improve handset performance during gameplay.
Amusingly, Game Recorder+ also allows users to record their own face during gameplay. That way, you can see exactly how stupid your concentration face is during an intense Crossy Road traffic-dodging session.
You can also record touch interactions, so you can find out exactly where you were tapping. That might come in handy for analysing gameplay to improve your skills.

Unfortunately, there’s a big caveat that dampens our excitement about Samsung’s new software.
You’ll need a Samsung device to run the app, specifically either the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S5, S4, Note 4, Note 3, or Note 2.
