The fierce patent battle between Samsung and Apple continues to rage on in the US, revealing all sorts of previously top-secret information in the process. The latest delicious info feast is a bundle of financial data that details the US sales of the Apple's and Samsung's smartphones and tablets. Let's dig in.

There's so much to take from the matter-of-fact sales tables from the court case that it's hard to know where to start. They detail the sales per quarter, and associated revenues, between 2010 and 2012.

As we could have guessed, they highlight quite how small-fry Samsung's tablet offering are compared to the iPad. The total sales of the original Galaxy Tab and the main Tab 10.1 variants amount to 1,428,000 and total revenue of $644 million. This is between Q4 2010 and the end of Q2 2012. By contrast, Apple's iPads have sold 34,002,000 units in the US - $19 billion in revenue.

Samsung's smartphones sold 21 million units in the US from Q2 2010 to the end of Q2 2012, while the iPhone sold 62.8 million in the same period. It's worth noting, though, that Samsung's figures include "accused" smartphones, although the figures seem to include pretty much all of the company's popular models.

For a close look at the figures, check out the PDF released from the trial.
