Samsung has announced it is to hold an Unpacked event on August 13, where the firm is likely to unveil its next-generation mobile and wearable products.
The Samsung Unpacked launch, traditionally reserved for the IFA tech show in September, is likely to see the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phablet, rumoured so heavily in recent months.
Speculation has also suggested the firm has another Galaxy S6 variant up its sleeve with the Galaxy S6 Edge+ appearing in leaks over the last couple of weeks.
The image that accompanied the Twitter announcement on Monday evening (above) seems to drop a very strong hint about the latter device, given the likeness to the original S6 Edge’s dual-edged curved screen.
Also potentially on the agenda for the New York City event is the next-generation Gear A smartwatch, which is all set to be the firm’s first wearable with a round face.
The device, codenamed Orbis, promises to deliver a new take on the UI thanks to a rotating bezel around the edge of the watch.

The timing of this event suggests Samsung is looking to steal a march on Apple by introducing new flagship devices before the launch of the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iOS 9 and WatchOS 2.
