Samsung to launch 10.5-inch AMOLED tablet at CES?

Samsung could launch a 10.5-inch AMOLED display tablet at CES 2014, sources suggest.

According to a new report, Samsung is gearing up to unveil a 10.5-inch tablet with an AMOLED screen.

ETNews claims Samsung will launch a 10.5-inch AMOLED screen as part of its portfolio at CES 2014, in an attempt to gain a higher tablet market share.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Samsung will launch four new tablets in the first quarter of 2014, and the latest rumour suggests at least one of these will arrive as early as next month.

We expect Samsung will equip the 10.5-inch slate with the super AMOLED variety found in its smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S4.

AMOLED displays are generally better for mobile devices as they offer higher refresh rates, lower power consumption and improved response times when used as touchscreens.

If Samsung launched the AMOLED display tablet at CES, you should be able to buy it as soon as February next year.

A Sammobile “insider” said Samsung will also launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, which will be released with a budget price tag of around €100 (£85).

The heavily rumoured 12.2-inch Samsung Galaxy Note tablet could also make an appearance early in 2014, as the device passed through the FFC earlier this month.

The mammoth tablet could pack specs such as a 2560 x 1600p Full HD resolution screen running Android 4.4 KitKat, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM.

Samsung will have a large presence at both CES and MWC in Q1 2014, so we strongly suspect the South Korean electronics giant will launch its new tablet range across the two events.

TrustedReviews will be on hand to bring you all the latest tech news from both shows, so watch this space.
