Samsung tipped to launch new Windows Phone flagship in 2014

Samsung could launch a new Windows Phone flagship model in 2014 according to some new information.

Both HTC and Samsung have only launched a few select Windows Phone handsets, choosing to focus on Android rather than Microsoft’s mobile OS for their smartphone ranges.

However, various new clues have emerged suggesting Samsung could launch a new Windows Phone device this year.

A Samsung device with the model number SM-W750Vhas been spotted in a Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) listing and on a User Agent (UA) profile accessed via the Samsung Mobile site.

According to the listings, the Samsung Windows Phone 8 device will feature a 5-inch Full 1080 x 1920p HD display and have 4G LTE compatibility.

The UA profile hints most notably to the Windows Phone 8 OS as it reveals the Samsung device includes the Internet Explorer browser.

Earlier reports suggested Microsoft had offered Samsung a $1 billion (£608 million) incentive to launch continue working with the Windows Phone OS, which could be why Samsung is supposedly launching a new WP8 device.

Rumours also suggest that Sony will launch a Windows Phone handset this year.

There’s no further information on the alleged high-end Samsung Windows Phone 8 handset, but it could be part of the Samsung line-up for MWC 2014.
