Samsung has released a teaser video of what looks like the Nexus Prime - and it’s got some big curves if the images we get to see are anything to go by.
Last week we reported on the news that Samsung would be hosting one of its Unpacked events in San Diego next Tuesday where it is likely to reveal the next Google smartphone – the Nexus Prime.
While we were surprised that the event was begin marketed as a Samsung launch rather than a Google event, it seems clear now that the South Korean manufacturer will be the one showing off the latest top-end smartphone.
A new teaser video posted on YouTube by Samsung has given us a glimpse of what the Nexus Prime will look like, and it certainly seems to offer something different from the plethora of the Android handsets currently on the market.
As you can see from the image above and in the video below, the Nexus Prime is set to have an exaggerated concave cure, even more than the curve we liked so much on the Google Nexus S.
With the tagline “Something BIG is coming”, the video gives away very little about the new handset, but we would be hoping that the Nexus Prime, as was the case with the Nexus One and Nexus S, will be the launch vehicle for the latest version of Android – the unifying Ice Cream Sandwich.
So next Tuesday, like yesterday’s launch of the iPhone 4S, is set to be another big day for the mobile phone industry and of course we’ll be on hand to cover all the details as they happen.
