Samsung has promised the forthcoming Galaxy S6 will boast its best ever camera, with smarter tech requiring less tinkering from users in order to take better shots in all conditions.

In a post on its Samsung Tomorrow blog, the firm chronicles the advances made since it released its first camera phone in 2000, and says there’s plenty more to come.

Samsung says its ‘2015 Flagship model’ will possess a camera so intelligent, users will need to do nothing but press the shutter button in order to take great photos.

The firm wrote: “We meticulously evaluate every single facet of our smartphone cameras by taking over 10,000 photos in every imaginable lighting environment for analysis.

“The same passion and dedication has been put into building the cameras for the release of our 2015 flagship model. It will be intelligent and do all the thinking for users, allowing them to take amazing pictures under any conditions, without having to worry about anything more than just pressing the shutter button.

“It will demonstrate just how far Samsung has advanced smartphone cameras, and once again will open the creative side of our users for new ideas and new possibilities.”

Samsung did not go into detail on exactly how the Galaxy S6 will deliver these improvements. However, recent reports have suggested the company is considering easing off in its more gimmicky features.

Further reports on Wednesday claimed the device will boast a 20-megapixel shutter, which would be the largest sensor ever offered within a Samsung phone. It was also claimed the module will offer optical image stabilisation and enable users to take photos at six different resolutions.

The front-facing camera will utilise the same 5-megapixel resolution found on Samsung’s Galaxy A devices, according to the report.

All will be revealed on Sunday March 1 when Samsung unveils the Galaxy S6 on the eve of the MWC 2015 expo in Barcelona.
