The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has long been rumoured to be coming with a stylus in tow, but new details reveal a cool new implementation of the add-on.
According to an official Samsung patent, the company has developed a stylus ejection system called ‘Auto Project’, as reported by GalaxyNote5.net.
So now, when you want to use the S-Pen stylus, you can shoot it out from the bottom of the device, at least if the patented technology ever comes to fruition.
It’s all thanks to the power of magnets, which keep the stylus locked in place when you’re not using it.
When you need the S-Pen however, the magnets can reverse their polarity and force the stylus out of its docking port.
It’s not a huge innovation, but it will make it slightly easier than manually dragging the S-Pen from within its holster.
Unfortunately, Samsung is still keeping quiet on the much-mooted Galaxy Note 5, so we can’t say for sure whether the device, or the S-Pen feature, will actually launch.

If you’re not a fan of styluses, you’ll be glad to hear that Samsung is also rumoured to be working on an S-Pen-free version of the Note 5.
According to recent reports, the South Korean tech giant is developing a device called the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus.
The S6 Plus will land as a pseudo-predecessor to the Galaxy Note 5, and will maintain the device’s specs, albeit dropping the S-Pen.
It’s also rumoured to tout a dual-edge design, mimicking the Galaxy S6 Edge, rather than the more prosaic Galaxy S6.
