Samsung’s ‘Black Pearl’ Galaxy S7 Edge will launch this week

Following a rumour that the Black Pearl Galaxy S7 Edge would launch on Friday, Samsung has confirmed the new colour option’s official release.

The glossy new colorway, will be exclusive to 128GB versions of the device and will debut in select markets on December 9.

It follows the Blue Coral and Pink Gold editions from earlier this year and has, according to Samsung, been “designed to be modern and striking”.

The sleek black finish is much like the iPhone 7‘s Jet Black colour option, and joins other Galaxy S7 Edge options such as White Pearl, Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, and Silver Titanium.

The new S7 Edge model is one of Samsung’s first launches following the Note 7 debacle, where the company was forced to recall its phablet following issues with the devices overheating and, in some cases, exploding.

Launching a new colour option is no doubt an attempt to return to the headlines for the right reasons and regain popularity among consumers.

Samsung is expected to reveal the results of its Note 7 investiagtion in the coming weeks, finally providing an official explanation for the overheating issue.

Unfortunately, the company hasn’t confirmed whether the new version of the S7 Edge will make it to the UK, but TrustedReviews has contacted Samsung for confirmation.
