Samsung’s 4K Serif TV will look amazing in your retro room

Samsung has announced wider availability of a 4K TV set for those who care less about trimming fractions of millimetres from their set-up and more about chic, retro-inspired design.

The 40-inch Serif TV has a frame and legs, just like the cabinet set-ups of yesteryear and his been designed by the Bouroullec brothers, Erwan and Ronan.

Samsung says it will look awesome in a den, bedroom, urban oasis or suburban retreat. Most of us have one of those at least?

While the frame, which is designed to look like a capital ‘I’ from the side is also available in various colours (white, black and blue), the brothers have also designed the Tizen-based user-interface.

That includes a Curtain Mode that “veils content on the screen to give an abstract impression of what is happening in the background, shutting down content without turning off the TV itself.”

It also has a custom cable management system and a remote control thrown in to account for its $1,500 price tag.

Oh and did we mention it has Ultra HD capabilities too? so whatever you’re watching on the television will look pretty decent.

The set has been available in Europe and South Korea for a while, but US buyers can now ignore the multitude of awesome 4K TV deals now out there and stump up a grand and a half for pure style.
