Samsung planning brand new feature for Galaxy Note 6

As the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 6 (or Note 7?) draws near, the number of details still unknown shrinks.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 6 could be the company’s first flagship phone to feature a USB-C port. Mobile accessory maker Olixar has unveiled a screen protector for the unreleased phone via Mobile Fun, revealing potentially accurate details about the handset.

The render that goes along with the screen protector clearly depicts a USB Type-C port, which is positioned along the bottom oft he phone. The image also reveals a bottom-firing speaker, a headphone jack and, unsurprisingly, a S-Pen slot.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 6 on August 2 at a dedicated launch event in New York. However, the company has yet to reveal any official details about this event, so take any early reports with due caution.

I love the Galaxy Note series but it must have an SD card slot (micro SD or whatever) as well as a replaceable battery. Lots of internal memory would be good (minimum 32 GB, more preferred) as long as that doesn't make it too expensive, and the possibility of moving most apps onto the external card. With a good phone like this I will probably want to put lots of apps on as well as lots of data including videos, and it is so frustrating when the phone becomes slow to respond because the internal memory is nearly full after Samsung has loaded a lot into it.

Also I don't want to have to throw out an expensive phone just because the battery has failed. I have already had to replace batteries in my Note 2 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (in-store) and know that batteries can have a limited lifespan.

I was going to buy a Note 5 last year, even if I had to get it from overseas, but lack of an SD card slot and removable battery made it a non-starter (and lost one of its main advantages over an iPhone).

If the Note 6 is available soon in the UK and has a good SD slot and replaceable battery I intend to buy one. If not I shall either have to settle for buying a Note 4, now two years old, or stick to my trusty Note 2 and buy my husband a cheap phone (if I get a new phone he will get my old Note 2).
