Samsung NX500 camera is a stylish, compact, 4K shooter

Samsung has announced the launch of its new NX500 camera, building on last year’s NX1 model.

Unlike the NX1 however, the NX500 has received a much-needed makeover, resulting in a small but stylish camera paired with a high-end spec sheet.

For starters, You’ll still get Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, which makes it easy to share your snaps.

It also makes use of a 28-megapixel back-side illumination APS-C sensor – the biggest BSI sensor currently available – as well as an ISO range that rises to 51,200 for super low-light shots.

The NX500 also boasts a new DRIMeV imaging processor, which Samsung reckons will improve significantly on its predecessor.

Perks of the chip include superior colour reproduction, better noise reduction, and overall improved image quality.

Samsung is also keen to point out that the NX500 supports 4K video recording, and comes with built-in HEVC codec for very file-size conscious compression.

Paul Scott, Samsung Digital Imaging UK Head of Marketing, said: “We are delighted to be announcing the NX500 that joins our acclaimed NX system.”

The NX500 allows photographers and cinematographers to capture incredible images and movies with professional quality and share them seamlessly.”
